YFC Aben and Jenny in Honduras: December 2015

About this ministry...

We are Aben and Jenny Claros and we work for YouthForChrist in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. This ministry has 4 parts. First is a basic center of education providing education from preK-6th grade for children who have not had the opportunity to go to school because they are extremely poor. Some of them, if they are lucky, eat once a day. For this, we also started a feeding program at the school. We will be starting a daycare for the younger kids in 2014. Second is evangelism outreach at public schools. We bring teams of musicians, drama, and anything creative to reach highschoolers and bring the Good News to them. Third, we minister at the city dump. We try to go once a week, to bring a warm meal, water, and a devotional to the people who live and work in the trash dump. About 500 people work at the dump and about 100 families live at the dump. The fourth part for ministry is developing a micro-loan program to educate low income families in a trade, so they can learn to provide for themselves and their families.
